Skincare Over 40: Simple, Nourishing, Real

My skincare routine has changed a lot over the years — and for the better. I’m no longer chasing flawless skin. Now, I focus on keeping my skin healthy, hydrated, and calm.

I believe in using fewer products, cleaner ingredients, and sticking to what actually works. I don’t follow 10-step routines or jump on every trend. What I do follow? Consistency, hydration, and products that support aging gracefully.

This is skincare for real life — especially if you’re over 40 and want to feel good in your skin without all the noise.

My Morning Routine

  • Gentle Cleanser (no stripping, just refreshing)

  • Hydrating Toner or Mist (wakes the skin up)

  • Antioxidant Serum (like Vitamin C for glow + protection)

  • Light Moisturizer - I use home made cream or natural oils (plump without being greasy)

  • Mineral SPF (non-negotiable)

☀️ I keep it light, breathable, and layered with intention. If I’m going out, I might add a tinted sunscreen or lightweight BB cream. SHOP my picks here

My Evening Routine

  • Oil Cleanse or Balm Cleanser (especially if I wore SPF or makeup)

  • Second Cleanse (optional)

  • Hydrating Serum (Hyaluronic Acid or Peptides)

  • Barrier Cream or Oil (to lock everything in)

  • Neck & Chest get the same love!

✨ At night, I focus on repair. Once or twice a week I’ll add an exfoliating acid or gentle retinol — but only if my skin feels up to it.

Weekly / Monthly Extras

  • Face Steaming with herbs (relaxing + detoxifying)

  • Clay Mask or Honey Mask for deep clean or glow

  • Facial Massage or Gua Sha — 5 minutes of lymphatic love

  • Microneedling (monthly ) - Numbing face / neck for 20 minutes then Microneedling entire face / neck - Link to numbing cream and pen

✨ Please do microneedling at night and avoid sun next few days.

Final Thoughts

Skincare at this stage of life is about being gentle and being smart. You don’t have to do everything — just do what works for you. I’ve found so much freedom in keeping it simple, and my skin has never been more at ease.

When you treat your skin with care, it shows.
