UK Trip Authorizations for Travelers

In 2025, the United Kingdom will introduce a new travel authorization system for non-UK citizens, which is expected to significantly affect travelers from outside the European Economic Area (EEA). This system, known as the UK Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), is similar to the U.S. Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).

What You Need to Know About the ETA: The ETA will be an electronic system requiring travelers from visa-exempt countries to obtain authorization prior to entering the UK. This includes travelers from many European and North American countries that currently do not require a visa. To secure an ETA, travelers must complete an online application, which incurs a fee ranging from £10 to £15.
